Aberdeen is a city and the county seat of Brown County, South Dakota, USA, about 125 mi (200 km) northeast of Pierre. Settled in 1880, it was incorporated in 1882. Also it is the home of Northern State University (NSU), and Presentation College (PC). As of 2009 census, the estimated population of Aberdeen was 24,992 consisting of 11,782 Males and 13,210 Females.
